The boma

Our camp is surrounded by a fence made of acacia branches which are full of long thorns.
« This fence is redoubtable, says Doudou. I wonder what it is protecting us from ?

- It protects you from lions, says a voice. We call it a "boma". If this boma was not here, you would be gobbled up during your sleep little bear ! »
