At noon, we stop for lunch. Ahmed starts a fire.
“ As you can see Doudou, says Ahmed, here in Mauritania the wind is always blowing. That’s why we must protect the fire with a big flat stone.
- Why did you light a fire, asks Doudou?
- It is to heat up the water for the tea and for the cooking. Tonight, I’ll teach you how to cook bread in the sand like a real camel-driver do.
- Bread in the sand? That’s strange, says Doudou…”
