After saying bye bye to
the kids, Doudou leaves the oasis. But where are Ahmed and the camels?
Fortunately, Doudou encounters a desert donkey…
“ Hello little donkey, says Doudou.”
But the little donkey seems to be upset. He doesn’t like when someone tells
him he is a “little” donkey :

are ! You are not very tall.
- Yes, you are right, I am small, just a little bear in this huge desert,
and moreover I have lost my friend Ahmed, the camel-driver, and his camels.
- Ahmed? I know him very well says the donkey. He has probably settled his
tent behind the big acacia that you can see there, in the distance.
- Pfff ! It’s very far from here, sighs Doudou.
- Yes, it’s a very long walk for such a tiny bear. Climb on my back, and I
will carry you there…”
