Ahmed’s bread is
delicious, but Doudou is not used to eat bread without anything else…
“ Ahmed ? Won’t you have some jam or honey ?
- Sorry Doudou, but us Mauritanians use to eat bread with a vegetable sauce.
We call this mix “kissere”, and it’s very good to eat.
- Yum yum, says Doudou, licking his chops. But by the way, where can you
find vegetables ? Nothing can grow here in the desert.
- Don’t think so Doudou, there are gardens in the desert, and we are just
going to cross one of them tomorrow…”
